ABOUT THE ARTIST
Japanese-Canadian 2 x Grammy®Award nominated and Juno Award winning flutist Ron Korb has travelled around the world collecting bamboo and various indigenous world flutes. In March 2026 he received a Juno for “Classical Album of the Year (small ensemble)” for Kimiko's Pearl and in February he attended the Grammys where he was in 2 nominated albums. He is also a 2025 Grammy Nominee in Best Global Music Performance for the song “Kashira” by Masa Takumi and Best New Age Album for “Break of Dawn” by Ricky Kej. He has developed a distinctive musical persona, fluidly blending Pan-Asian, Jazz, Celtic and Latin influences acquired through a lifetime of global exploration. He has earned 9 Grammy certificates with 4 of them for winning albums including for his work on Stewart Copeland (The Police) and Ricky Kej’s Grammy-winning album Divine Tides and Masa Takumi’s Grammy winning album for Best Global Music Album.

Ron Korb Winning His Second Grammy Nomination in 2025
Ron Korb plays on Two 2023 Grammy Winning Albums

Two albums Ron performed on “Sakura” by Masa Takumi for “Best Global Music Album” and “Divine Tides” by Stewart Copeland and Ricky Kej nominated for “Best Immersive Audio Album” both won Grammys on this past February 5th 2023 at the Grammy Ceremony in Los Angeles. After the win, Masa received nationwide attention in Japan across all media because he is the first Japanese musician to win in this category.
